About ByteForge

We're a team of passionate Australian gamers who believe great games deserve honest, thorough, and thoughtful coverage.

Our Story

ByteForge was founded in 2019 by a group of Sydney-based gamers who were frustrated with game reviews that felt rushed, sponsored, or out of touch with the Australian gaming experience. We set out to build something different: a platform where every review is earned through genuine playtime, and every opinion is our own.

Since then, we've grown into one of Australia's most trusted gaming publications, covering everything from indie gems to AAA blockbusters, and from local LAN events to international esports championships.

We're based in Sydney, NSW, but our writers and contributors span the entire country — from Brisbane to Perth, Melbourne to Darwin. We understand that gaming in Australia comes with its own unique context: server latency, regional release schedules, and a community that's as passionate as any in the world.

Our promise: We will never accept payment for a positive review. Every score on ByteForge reflects our genuine assessment of the game, nothing more.
